Recent interesting shade designs and installations: Sydney: St Catherines School Waverly This particular installation was completed after a number of other shade sail companies said it was not possible. We enlisted John Mckinstry (Multicraft Engineering) in Brisbane on the best way to tackle such a dilemma, with a sharp pencil and his slide rule John was able to modify an existing framed structure to satisfy the schools principal and architect while keeping the frame structurally sound. The installation required cranes, extra hands and a modicum of luck. The school was built in the 1800’s and no one new what was under the surface. Pipe scans revealed some underground services, but didn’t show a 4inch fire hydrant line and numerous cables. However luck and skill were on our side and Mark our Dingo operator managed to avoid what could have been an embarrassing situation.
Melbourne: Altona Beach Boat Ramp Fish Cleaning Table for Hobsons Bay City Council This all “silver” shade structure earned high praise from VRFISH the peak body for recreational fishers.
Overseas: Château de Padies A single COMSHADE 90 23m x 12m shade sail to provide shade for 160-180 outdoors diners during Bastille Day celebrations. Subsequent trade enquiries from Cannes, Paris and Geneva for similar sail structures. (We are also willing to design for the Caribbean area!!)
